Spring at Last!
Trade Show Season in Review...
The warm winds of Spring are finally blowing
across Alberta as trade show season is winding down. I increased my trade
show presence this year with a visit to Atlanta, GA for the ATA Show. I
also attended several local trade events in Edmonton, Red Deer and Consort with
at least one more planned for this coming fall. Bowkaddy continues to grow
in popularity as the "word" is getting out there about the "Only Bow Rack You'll
Ever Need". The motto really proved itself this year as many patrons were
seeking a way to carry their bows on UTV, or side-by-side vehicles. In
another instance, a Bowkaddy was purchased by a dealer, not for resale, but to
use as a maintenance tool in their proshop.
The
Bow-Kini bow cover
has really helped with the marketing campaign this year. Almost everyone
who purchased a Bowkaddy at the trade shows also purchased a Bow-Kini to protect
their bows from mud and debris when cruising down the trails. Thanks to
the folks at Black's Creek for creating such a great accessory product.

Plans for next year's trade shows are, you guessed
it...bigger and better. I plan to attend both the ATA AND the SHOT Show
next January as well as the local events. This will undoubtedly increase
the number of Bowkaddy dealers, especially in the US.

Homepage Hits 10,000 Visitors!
At approximately 5:00 pm MST last Friday, April
20, the Alaris Concepts homepage hit counter logged its 10,000th visitor.
While there have been more than 10,000 visits to the website (ie. web visitors
join in on a page other than the homepage and are therefore not recorded on the
hit counter), this is still a significant milestone. The lucky individual
was awarded a free Bowkaddy as he participated in an Archery Talk web forum
contest asking for a screenshot of the homepage with the counter closest to
10,000. The contest was aimed at drawing people to the site and to thank
the people at Archery Talk for visiting my site and getting to know my product.
Congratulations, Mark Smith from Montague, California for taking the
prize!
Black Bear Season is Here!
April in Alberta marks the beginning of the spring
black bear season, and this year, I am pumped! With large snowfalls in the
northern areas, baiting has been somewhat delayed, at least for us. With
warmer weather this week, we're hoping to get the initial baiting completed next
weekend. Some serious bear hunting to follow in May. Keep an eye out
for the next Bowkaddy Bulletin as I continue my quest for a color-phase bear
rug!
